By God’s Grace

This Thanksgiving Day 2008 I’m blessed beyond measure — more blessings than I am able to contain because of God and his marvelous goodness and mercy.  Linda and I have hosted a young man from Manipur for about three months whose vision is to further his education here in the states and then return home using his education for the kingdom of God.  Next Thursday he will be heading home and Lord willing return with his family to start a Doctoral program at George Fox University.

Linda and I have been privileged to watch God work in Mang’s life in miraculous ways networking him with people who are coming alongside him with prayer and financial support needed to carry out his calling and vision.  This is just one of multiple blessings we are experiencing at this time.

“By God’s grace” is a phrase that Mang uses all the time.  I find myself meditating on this wonderful phrase numerous times each as I have observed the Lord working in Mang’s life.  As a result, I often find myself now saying “by God’s grace.”  EVERYTHING!  Blessings upon added blessings are all by God’s grace.

Linda reminded us this morning in our devotional time that when we lack or think we lack the needed grace to survive we receive more with the words from the following hymn penned by Annie Flint HE GIVETH MORE GRACE

He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,

He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;

To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,

To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,

When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,

When we reach the end of our hoarded resources

Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,

His power no boundary known unto men;

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus

He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

So today we are particularly thankful for God’s grace!!
